(Melbourne, December 26, 2025) – A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a crime spree across Melbourne, Australia, that allegedly began on Christmas Day and continued into Boxing Day.

melton crime investigation Unit detectives arrested the 49-year-old man at a licensed venue in St Albans, northwest of Melbourne, around 1 p.m. yesterday, police said. The arrest followed allegations that the man stole a motor vehicle and carried out a series of burglaries, stealing both cash and electrical items.
Investigators allege the man, from Altona Meadows, first broke into a design studio on Stawell Street in Richmond around 7 p.m. on Christmas Day. Approximately half an hour later, he allegedly stole a vehicle from a furniture buisness on Church Street, according to police.
The alleged activity continued early on Boxing Day, with the man reportedly breaking into a restaurant in Deer Park around 5:45 a.m. He then allegedly targeted an indoor furniture business on the Western Highway in Ravenhall, followed by two restaurants on westwood Drive in the same suburb, investigators said.
Police recovered the stolen vehicle in a car park, where they also allegedly found stolen items, according to a police statement.

The man has been charged with multiple counts of burglary, attempted burglary, theft, criminal damage, and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail. He also faces charges of unlicensed driving,going equipped to steal,and dealing with proceeds of crime.He is scheduled to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
