A new era in Paris Saint-Germain is about to begin: the French champions will soon announce the end of the team’s coach of the last year and a half, Mauricio Pochettino, and tomorrow (Tuesday) a replacement will be introduced in one of the most glittering positions in world football – Christoph Galatea. The Frenchman will become the 31st coach in the club’s history, and will be the first local to accept the role since Laurent Blanc, when since his departure in 2016 he has served as Unai Emery, Thomas Tuchel and Pochettino.
Ahead of the official announcement of his appointment, Galatia was spotted tonight at the club’s offices in Paris and France reporting that he has already signed a two-year contract at the club. For the 55-year-old Galatia it will be the fourth stop in his coaching career. He coached Saint-Etienne for eight years, until 2017, then went on to Lille and led it to a surprising championship in 2021, and last season he stood on the lines Venice and was replaced by Lucian Faber.

Meanwhile, a number of players have lined up for the first time at the training complex in preparation for the new season. Senior players such as Marco Verratti, Sergio Ramos, Ender Herrera, Georginio Vinaldom and Mauro Icardi have been spotted at the complex, but the team’s three big stars – Lionel Messi, Killian Ambape and Neymar – are still on holiday and will join training only next Monday. As is known, PSG will meet Nantes at the French Super Cup to be held at Bloomfield Stadium on 31.7
