Chung Hsin Brothers secured a dominant 7:1 victory over TSG Hawks. The win extended their lead in the second half of the Chinese Professional Baseball League season, pushing their advantage over the Rakuten Monkeys to 1.5 games.
Pitcher De Leon and the Brother Batters Overwhelm TSG Hawks
The visitors arrived at Chengcing Lake Baseball Ground with their bats primed after a lopsided 19:10 win against TSG at their Intercontinental home field a day earlier. Chang Shih-lung ignited the frame with a surprise bunt for an infield hit, followed by singles and a walk that loaded the bases with no outs. Wang Wei-chen drove in the opening run on a fielder’s choice grounder, and Sung Sheng-jui doubled home another before being thrown out at the plate.
The onslaught continued into the middle innings. Kao Yu-jet singled in the second, and Huang Wei-sheng notched a hit in his first plate appearance since returning from the Asian Games Taiwan squad. By the fifth inning, the Brothers had piled up 15 hits against the struggling TSG starter, building an insurmountable seven-run cushion.

Pitching Masterclass Secures Victory Number Ten
While the visiting offense dismantled the pitching staff, Brothers starter De Leon delivered a stellar performance on the mound. The right-hander tossed seven scoreless innings, throwing 109 pitches while yielding only two hits and striking out six batters to claim his 10th win of the season.
TSG struggled to find any rhythm against the dominant pitching performance. Nagata Sataro added the second hit in the seventh, but TSG failed to capitalize as the inning stalled. The home side avoided a shutout in the eighth against reliever Chen Hu when Wang Po-hsuan lifted a sacrifice fly.
Milestones and Late-Inning Relief Appearances
The matchup also featured notable individual milestones and debuts. In the fourth inning, Chang Shih-lung collected his 100th career hit with a single, later advancing on a sacrifice fly from Chang Jen-wei.
Late in the game, TSG turned to 19-year-old pitcher Chiu Li-hsuan, drafted in the third round last year, who made his first career CPBL first-team relief appearance in the eighth. Although he surrendered a hit to Wang Wei-chen, he pitched a scoreless frame. Chiu returned for the ninth, surviving a bases-loaded jam sparked by two walks and a Huang Wei-sheng single to escape without giving up a run.
