Churches rallied in support of the struggle-Dinamani

As the economic crisis in Sri Lanka continues against Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Catholic churches have expressed support for the struggle.

Due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, the cabinet resigned in protest of the Gotabhaya Rajapaksa-led government’s handling of the issue.

The 41 MPs from the Coalition Party announced that they would withdraw their support for the Rajapaksa government and act as independents.

Meanwhile, all Sri Lankans are engaged in a struggle against the Rajapaksa government. Protesters have been urging Mahinda Rajapaksa to resign as prime minister.

Speaking at the event, Cyril Cami Fernando, director of the National Catholic Center, said the Catholic Center was supporting the ongoing struggle for Rajapaksa’s resignation. Many members of the Catholic movement have already taken part in the ongoing civil war.

In addition, we plan to engage in religious activities in support of the struggle. He said that we will be fully involved in the first fight of the Easter festival.
