Citroën has a long-standing reputation as a car company that focuses on driving comfort, and it confirms this image with each new product. The French car manufacturer has already converted the know-how acquired in the rally into series production in the form of shock absorbers with progressive hydraulic stops.

The above-standard system allows the vehicle to react to normal bumps very smoothly and this contributes to driving comfort. At the same time, if you happen to hit a bump, you can count on the chassis to absorb the strong impact more effectively so that you feel it in the cabin as little as possible. In the case of Citroën, these claims are not just marketing phrases. In reality, the chassis meets all the requirements and allows the car to go off-road. It can go there more than many competitors with front-wheel drive. The C4 X is definitely not an SUV, but the ground clearance of 156 mm does not place it even among ordinary passenger cars. The crossover designation is appropriate for it.

High efficiency

Despite the robust body and above-average ground clearance, Citroën manages to maintain the efficiency of the C4 X at an excellent level. During my test week, diesel consumption hovered around 5.5 l/100 km. I drove about two-thirds of the kilometers on the highway, the rest in urban and rural environments. I have to point out that the car was brand new and the engine was de facto not run. In the future, we can count on even higher efficiency, consumption could quite realistically drop to five liters. The range of the vehicle on one tank easily exceeds 900 km.
