Broadway-Caliber Vocalists Sought for New Directed Show in NYC

A new theatrical production is seeking classically trained singers for a unique performance opportunity in the New York City area. The show, described as a directed piece with individualized attention, promises a collaborative environment for vocal artists.

The production aims to assemble a cast capable of delivering both solo performances and a compelling finale. According to show organizers, performers will have the opportunity to shape their repertoire, with songs suggested to complement their vocal strengths and enhance their performance portfolios.

Audition Requirements & Performance Details

The audition process requires prospective cast members to submit two contrasting solo videos. These submissions should showcase vocal range and versatility, featuring both an uptempo number and a ballad. Acceptable genres include classic musical theater songs, classical pieces in English, or standards. High-quality audio and video are essential for consideration.

Applicants are also asked to include a comprehensive submission package consisting of a cover letter detailing their location, a professional headshot, a resume outlining their performance experience, an email address, and a cell number for contact.

Rehearsal & Production Schedule

The production schedule is designed to be efficient, with a single rehearsal incorporating private sessions with both the Director and Music Director, culminating in a final rehearsal before performances. The cast will perform two individual solos during the show, in addition to participating in a grand finale.

Participants will receive professional-quality documentation of their performances, including performance videos, photos, and audio recordings.

A Legacy of Broadway Talent

The production boasts a strong pedigree, having previously featured performers who have gone on to achieve success on Broadway and beyond. Past participants include Jakeim Hart, currently appearing in Hell’s Kitchen and previously in Almost Famous and Sing Street; Mark Mitrano, who has graced the stage in Tommy on Broadway and toured with My Fair Lady and Dead Man Walking; and Michelle Beth Herman, a veteran of the Les Misérables national tour.

Other notable alumni include Sarah Anne Fernandez (understudy for Elphaba in Wicked national tour), Ryahn Evers (Hairspray national tour), Allie Jordan (Hamilton national tour), Ryan Dever (Matilda national tour), Yael Chanukov (Fiddler on the Roof Off-Broadway directed by Joel Grey), Allie Tamburello (The Addams Family national tour), Aneesa Folds (Ragtime national tour), and Amara Berham (Moulin Rouge national tour).

The production is actively seeking individuals with a passion for vocal performance and a commitment to artistic collaboration. Prospective performers must live within commuting distance of NYC to participate.
