Earlier today (Friday) Novak Djokovic defeated Danil Medvedev at the end of a tenacious battle of more than three hours. During the match, Novak looked exhausted – he trembled, put a towel over his face, which turned red, and gave the impression of someone who was going to retire from the game in a moment, which was also unimportant to him after he had already secured his place in the semi-finals of the year-end championship in Turin.
The Serbian joker rested for a few minutes, drank his special drinks to restore energy and returned to the third and decisive set, at the end of which he celebrated after Medvedev had already served for victory at 4:5 with another magnificent comeback. By the way, his Russian opponent had already lost a chance to advance to the next stage even before the match and for him the meeting was also a protocol in this respect.
So in the meantime, the Serbian was under fire for physically collapsing and returning to victory at the end of another long campaign: “Clown, he’s not the greatest player of all time because he just makes plays all the time. Did he take drugs, how did he recover so quickly?”, were just some of the angry reactions towards the 35-year-old Serb.
