Amazra – 40 workers were killed in an explosion at a coal mine in the town of Amazra in Turkey’s coastal province of Bartin. 11 people were injured. Search continues for missing person. The rest of the 110 workers in the mine were rescued. The explosion occurred 350 meters below the ground level. Methane gas is believed to have caused the explosion and subsequent fire.
