Political scientist Stepan Danielyan wrote on his Facebook page.
“Cold winds have started to blow in the relations between Turkey and Russia.
1. Blinken stated that there are advances regarding Sweden’s entry into NATO, for which Turkey expects to receive new F16s and spare parts for existing aircraft. Sweden’s NATO membership poses strategic risks for Russia in the Baltic Sea and in connection with the Kalingrad region.
2. On December 16, a secret meeting on the Ukrainian issue was held in Riyadh with the participation of high officials of Turkey, Saudi Arabia and India. Britain is one of the main organizers of the meeting.
This also deepened the lack of trust in the relations between Turkey and Russia.
Britain is the strategic roof of Turkey and Azerbaijan.
These developments can create a new situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations. Let’s remember that after the Erdogan-Putin meeting in Sochi last September, the ethnic cleansing of Armenians in Artsakh was completed.
What is interesting is that after the secret negotiations held in Riyadh, a discussion on the peace resolution in Ukraine is expected in Davos, in which the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia will also participate. Here, questions arise as to what is the policy of the so-called government of Armenia, what and whose problems are they serving and what are the calculations. Asking about the government’s strategic calculations is rhetorical, it is clear that strategic thinking and the government of Armenia are incompatible concepts.”
