The Cinema Eye Honors, widely considered a bellwether for Oscar success in the documentary category, celebrated a diverse range of filmmaking talent. Geeta Gandbhir was recognized for her direction of “The Perfect neighbor,” while the production award resulted in a tie between Petra Costa and Alessandra Orofino for “Apocalypse in the Tropics” and Andrew Jarecki and Charlotte kaufman for “The alabama Solution.”
“Seeds” emerged as the best debut film,and “To the West in zapata” received the Spotlight Award,acknowledging films deserving of broader distribution.The Hererodox Award, celebrating innovative blends of nonfiction and fiction, was presented to “The Voice of Hind Rajab.”
