The topic of body swapping has become a common proposition in the cine and address it again in the present It could turn out to be an eternal cliché, which is why the filmmaker Beto Gomez He said he faced challenges in the production of the Mexican film Faces We See.
“I had the mission of making the viewer forget, in one way or another, the premise of the change of bodies and could be more interested in the history of this family and that from that will develop the best comedy possible,” said the director in an interview with this media.
“The spirit of this story is this familythe situations they experience and how through them we can identify as spectators with something that is as important as acceptance, forgiveness of your loved ones, closeness and letting go of what you cannot control,” the filmmaker continued.
In that sense, he also said that the idea was always to present a movie for the whole family.
“We wanted it to be functional in that sense and commercial, we never wanted crude or basic humor, but rather to handle all the seriousness necessary for what this premise supposed to identify us with the characters regardless of the extravagance of the same.
“I think it is easy to achieve identification because as we all know, in all families there are problems, breakups, disagreements and good times, so for me it was important that the characters were faithful to that atmosphere of reality“, he added.
But in this comedy, the performance of Paula Hernández, who plays Zoe, also stands out, although after the body swap, she must take on the role of her mother.
“For me it was a challenge to play Laura more than to Zoe, It was difficult but everyone helped me and supported me a lot, they were understanding and it ended up being a lot of fun,” said the young actress.
For its part, Bruno Bicher, He highlighted how fun it is to be able to do projects that play with the personalities of the characters themselves.
“It’s very entertaining because we are and we are not us and when we are us, in the end we are not us. we are all ourselvesIt’s a Shakespearian question, to be or not to be, and that’s very much enjoyed here.
“Being in projects that you allow you to experience different sensations as an actor, it is enriching in every sense,” added the interpreter.
Faces We Seetells the story of a family, who for some strange reason change bodies and that leads them to experience being the other for a time, but while they try to remedy it, they must live the experience of not being themselves, which leaves secrets exposed and roses too.
