(24 News) Commissioning ceremony of Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) PNS Hunain being built for Pakistan in Romania.
The ceremony was held in Constanta Port of Romania, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Navid Ashraf was the special guest of the ceremony, Romanian Chief of Defense Staff General Gheorghita Vlad and Chief Vice Admiral of the Romanian Navy were present at the ceremony. Special appearance by Mihai Panait.
The chief of Pakistan Navy said that PNS Hunain is a multi-purpose, ultra-light warship which has terminal defense system as well as advanced electronic warfare, anti-ship and anti-air warfare capabilities, this ship is a multi-role helicopter. With a strong capability to conduct multiple operations for a long time, the induction of the ship will further enhance Pakistan Navy’s maritime security capabilities, presence in distant international waters and operational readiness.
The chief of Pakistan Navy further said that the deployment of PNS Hunain in the regional maritime security patrol in the Indian Ocean will be more stable. Appreciating the yard management, the commissioning ceremony was attended by senior officials of Pakistan, Romania and the Netherlands and dignitaries of the Pakistani community living in Romania.
