The president said that all the businessmen, people and public representatives should be alert and work with a spirit of sacrifice so that the common consumers do not suffer due to someone’s personal interest or greed during the month of fasting. Sahabuddin

He said this in a speech given on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day on Friday.

He also said that Consumer Rights Day is being celebrated in the holy month of Ramadan this year. I hope that the countrymen will be aware to uphold the rights of consumers and service receivers by keeping the spirit of the great liberation war and will contribute fruitfully from their respective positions.

Congratulating consumers on the occasion of ‘World Consumer Rights Day 2024’, he said, the main goal of our great freedom, achieved at the hands of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was to build a happy and prosperous Sonar Bangla. The government is working relentlessly to deliver the benefits of freedom to the doorsteps of the people.

He further said, ‘Consumer right is a universal and fair right. Buying and selling goods and providing services according to rules and laws makes people’s life normal and comfortable. For this purpose, it is essential to ensure quality in every field, including food production, processing, storage, marketing and marketing.

Sahabuddin said, “The government has enacted the ‘Consumer-Rights Protection Act, 2009′ to ensure the rights of consumers.” There is no alternative to the collective efforts of the people, public representatives, businessmen and public servants for the proper implementation of the law.’

He said, ‘Under the wise leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country is now moving forward on the path of building Smart Bangladesh along the path of implementing Digital Bangladesh. Smart consumer and smart market management are very important for implementation of Smart Bangladesh.

He wished the success of all programs undertaken on the occasion of ‘World Consumer Rights Day 2024’.
