A social activist has filed a complaint demanding action against actors Ajith, Vijay and the theater owner in the case of the death of a 19-year-old youth who went to watch the movie Thadhavu in Chennai.

Ajith starrer Thadhavu released worldwide on 11th Pongal. Produced by Boney Kapoor and H. Vinod, the third film in this film, Manju Warrier, John Cockayne, Nayana Singh, Mahanadi Shankar, Samuthirakani and others acted in the film. Gibran composed the music for Thadvu; Udayanidhi released Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. Actor Vijay’s movie ‘Varisu’ was also released on the same day as Thadvu. Due to this, Ajith and Vijay fans competed and invaded the theatres.

As the special preview of Thadhavu was released at 1 midnight, the fans celebrated in theaters on the first night itself. So, the fans were participating in the Thadvu celebration in front of the Rohini theater in Koyambhet, Chennai. At that time, Ajith’s fans went on a rampage by throwing firecrackers, coconuts and other things on the Varisu banner and also smashed Vijay’s cut-outs. Then Rohini stood on a lorry on the road in front of the theater and some young people danced. In it, a 20-year-old student named Bharat fell down while dancing and died. He sustained severe spinal injuries and was admitted to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The incident caused a great stir and drew heavy criticism. At the same time, actor Ajith and the film crew are being criticized. In this way, actor Ajith and Red Giant team have donated Rs. 1 crore, social activist RTI Selvam has filed a complaint demanding action against actors Ajith, Vijay and theater owner. He has filed a complaint through the internet to the Chennai Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s office, seeking action in sections including promoting enmity between the two groups.
