A surge in live music performances is set to cap off 2024 in South Korea,with over 30 year-end concerts scheduled throughout December.The robust lineup signals a strong recovery for the nation’s pop culture industry, following disruptions caused by political events and global circumstances in the recent past.
A Rebound Fueled by Pent-Up Demand
The upcoming concert series represents a significant rebound for the South Korean music scene. According to industry sources, last year’s events – including a declaration of martial law on December 3rd – severely hampered year-end festivities. Compounding the issue, the Gyeongju Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit earlier in the year limited opportunities for fall performances. “Due to an unexpected national emergency last year, the pop culture world had to miss not only the year-end special event but also the early part of this year,” a senior official stated. As a result, artists and promoters are now concentrating their efforts on delivering a packed December schedule.
Early December Highlights
Kicking off the month is Paul Kim, known for his high-quality performances, who will present “Crush Hour” at Jamsil Indoor Stadium during the same period. The show will blend his signature songs with innovative production elements. Also performing from December 19th is Kyuhyun, former member of Super Junior, who will deliver a solo concert, “The Classic,” at the Olympic Hall in Seoul Olympic Park, accompanied by an orchestra.

The period from December 24th to 28th will see a flurry of activity from established “year-end concert powerhouses.” sung Si-kyung will hold a four-day concert,”Sung Si-kyung,” at the Case for Dome,overcoming recent concerns about financial difficulties experienced by his long-time manager. Ailee will perform “Last Christmas” at KBS Arena in Seoul on December 24th, marking her return to the stage after a two-year national tour. Heize will present “Haize City: Love Virus” at Myeonghwa Live Hall in Seoul from December 26th to 28th, celebrating her 10th mini album.
Other notable performances include:
- Brown Eyed Soul, South Korea’s quintessential R&B group, will perform “Soul Tricycle” at Gocheok Sky Dome from december 24th-25th and 27th-31st – their first solo concert in six years.
- Epik high will hold the “2025 Epik High Concert” at Seoul Ticket Link Live Arena (formerly Olympic Handball Stadium) from December 25th to 28th, adding an additional performance due to high demand.
- Nell will present “Christmas in Nell’s Room” at the Jamsil Student Gymnasium from december 25th to 27th, continuing their 20-year tradition.
- Jaurim will perform “Midnight Express 2025-2026: Life!” at Ewha Womans University, while FT Island will play “FTISOD” at the Donghae Culture and Arts Center.
- Singer-songwriter Kwon Jin-ah will hold “This Winter: Best Wishes” at Ewha Womans university ECC Samsung Hall for five days.
Festival Season Closes Out the Year
The year will culminate with the “Countdown Fantasy” music festival at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province on December 30th and 31st, featuring artists such as CNBLUE, Adoi, N.Flying, Silica Gel, and Idiotape.
