In a year of impasse due to the construction of the permanent auditorium in the castle gardens, the Peralada festival has hosted a single staged opera: The telephone or l’amour à trois by Giancarlo Menotti. Premiered in 1947, it is a visionary piece about the interference of technology in human relationships in the form of a one-act comic opera.
