Table of Contents
A new animated series based on RL Stine’s latest anthology horror book series, Stinetinglers, is in development, marking a significant milestone for the prolific author. The project represents the first time one of Stine’s works will be exclusively adapted for animation, a move lauded by both the author and the newly formed production studio behind the effort.
Limestone Animation Launches with Horror Project
Limestone Animation, a new animation and digital media studio based in Kingston, Ontario, is spearheading the adaptation. Founded by Canadian industry veterans Sean Connolly and Donnie MacIntyre, the company aims to blend cutting-edge production technologies with a focus on creative storytelling. Connolly and MacIntyre will jointly serve as co-CEOs.
According to a company release, Limestone Animation is “designed from the ground up to embrace modern production technologies while championing the creativity of its team and collaborators.” Stinetinglers was selected as the studio’s inaugural project because it embodies the company’s core values.
A New Chapter for ‘Stinetinglers’
The animated series will be set in Blooming Hills, a town that appears idyllic on the surface but harbors unknown terrors that threaten local teenagers. Four volumes of Stinetinglers have already been published, with a fifth installment planned for release in 2026. Stine, best known for the Goosebumps and Fear Street series, has sold over 500 million copies of his books worldwide.
“Animation is the perfect medium to tell the twisted tales of Stinetinglers,” Stine stated. “These spooky stories will be brought to life in a way unlike any of my work before.” He further expressed his enthusiasm for Limestone Animation’s unique vision for the project, stating he “immediately knew they were the right partners to bring to screen my newest stories.”
Industry Collaboration Backs Animated Series
Connolly and MacIntyre echoed Stine’s sentiment, noting they are “honoured that RL Stine has trusted us with his latest book series.” They believe Stinetinglers is the ideal launchpad for their studio, representing “the home of creative storytelling that is bold, imaginative, and designed to bring audiences of all ages together.”
The project will also feature Eric Birnberg, as well as Yvonne Bernard and Dan Bernard of LA-based Lookout Entertainment as executive producers alongside Connolly, MacIntyre, and Stine. This collaboration signals a strong industry backing for the animated adaptation and suggests a commitment to delivering a high-quality production.
The launch of Limestone Animation and its commitment to adapting Stinetinglers signals a renewed interest in animated horror for a broad audience, potentially opening doors for further adaptations of Stine’s extensive catalog.
