New Delhi: Karnataka Rural Development Minister K.S. Ishwarappa resigned. The resignation letter will be handed over to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bomma today. It is learned that the BJP central leadership has demanded the resignation of Ishwarappa after a case was registered against the minister for inciting suicide.

Santosh K, a civil contractor from Belgaum, was staying in a lodge room in Udupi last Tuesday morning. Patil, 37, was found dead after consuming poison. According to the suicide note, Minister Eshwarappa had demanded a 40 per cent commission to pass the Rs 4 crore bill.
Although Minister Ishwarappa reiterated that he did not know Santosh, pictures of the meeting between the two came out.
Santosh was preparing to meet Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh and lodge a complaint against the minister.
