Mumbai: Former Indian cricketer and commentator Sunil Gavaskar has apologized for his remarks about legendary cricketer Shane Warne. Shane Warne, 52, was found dead in a villa in Thailand last Friday. The primary conclusion is that heart attack is the leading cause of death. Vaughan is the second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket, taking 798 wickets in Tests. Warne has taken 293 wickets in ODIs.
Gavaskar’s argument was that Vaughan was not the best spinner of all time. Gavaskar told India Today that despite being a player who has made great contributions to cricket, Indian spinners and Sri Lankan spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan are the best spinners of all time. Gavaskar said Shane Warne does not have a good record against Indian batsmen who play spin well or on Indian pitches that help spin.
“Warne’s performance in India and against Indian batsmen was average. Vaughan has taken five wickets in India only once. That’s what Zaheer Khan got when he tried to be a giant. But Muradheedharan has done better against India and in India than Warne. How can a person who has not performed well against Indians and in India be described as the best spinner of all time? ” Gavaskar asked.

Earlier, several of Vaughan’s fans came out with criticism, citing Gavaskar’s remarks and the timing of it. Fans also demanded that Gavaskar be banned from commentary and television programs.
