Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29) resonates in the world and receives a positive response from authoritative experts.
As Day.Az reports on Friday with reference to the American “Caspian Policy Center” – one of the leading think tanks on the Caspian region, the famous American diplomat Richard E. Hoagland (currently retired) also commented on this issue.
“Azerbaijan’s upcoming chairmanship of COP29 will increase European interest in the Caspian region,” said Hoagland, who at one time was the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan, served as the US mediator on resolving the Karabakh problem and performed a number of diplomatic duties in the CIS countries.
It should be noted that COP 29 will be held in Baku on November 11-22.
The topic of holding this climate summit was discussed in early February and was at the center of negotiations between Azerbaijani officials and representatives of the White House, the US State Department and other American departments.
