COPENHAGEN, January 26, 2026 – Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) is gearing up for a slightly streamlined, yet highly anticipated, 20th-anniversary season, kicking off Monday with 21 runway shows-a decrease from 27 last January-and a series of presentations. The event promises a vibrant showcase of Scandinavian style.
The upcoming season will see returning brands and exciting new designers take center stage in the Danish capital.
- Norwegian label Holzweiler is making a “Homecoming” return after showing in London.
- Anne Sofie Madsen, known for her viral “rat bag,” is back with a relaunched brand.
- Palestinian brand Nazzal Studio will become the first label from Palestine to present on the CPHFW schedule.
- The event will feature talks on the future of fashion and sustainability.
Notably, Norwegian label Holzweiler, which presented collections in London for a couple of seasons, will return to Copenhagen for a special one-off show. This “Homecoming” slot is designed for Scandi brands who have showcased their work elsewhere.Buyers and editors are also eager to see the latest from Nicklas Skovgaard, Caro Editions, and Anne Sofie Madsen, who debuted a well-received collection last season featuring a now-iconic rat-shaped bag.
What makes Copenhagen Fashion Week unique? ItS the intimate format and strong sense of community, according to Angélique Liautaud, buying director for womenswear, accessories and circularity at Printemps. “Copenhagen always serves as a strong platform for both established names and emerging Nordic designers,” she says.
Spotlight on New Talent
This season, two Swedish brands are joining the NewTalent One to Watch program: upcycled label Sson, presenting on Tuesday afternoon, and womenswear label Taus, a returning participant. Studio Constance, a slow fashion brand, will also make its CPHFW debut on Tuesday evening, following a showing at Stockholm Fashion Week last June.
Knitwear label Stem, designed by Copenhagen-based British designer Sarah Brunnhuber, is graduating from the One to Watch program and will receive financial support and mentorship for its FW26 presentation. Perhaps most substantially, Nazzal Studio, a Palestinian brand, will present on the schedule for the first time, marking a historic moment for the event. Sylwia Nazzal, the brand’s designer, received the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award at the Fashion trust Arabia Awards in 2024.
Laird Borrelli-Persson,senior archive editor at Vogue, expressed excitement about seeing Caro Editions expand its presence and Nicklas Skovgaard utilize his Wessel & Vett Fashion Prize to explore new product categories. She also highlighted Anne Sofie Madsen as a designer to watch.
Sustainability and the Future of Fashion
Sustainability remains a key focus. zalando Sustainability Award 2023 winner Paolina Russo will return to the schedule after sitting out last season. liautaud notes that while Scandi minimalism continues to resonate with consumers, there’s a growing interest in heritage revival trends. “In times of uncertainty, our consumers are drawn to reassuring pieces and enduring trends,” she explains, adding that Rotate is a brand she’s particularly excited about.
Beyond the runway, Vogue Business will host a series of talks in collaboration with CPHFW, addressing topics such as the role of magazines, the future of fashion, clothing longevity, and innovations in sizing.
