Corinthians beat Fluminense in the Brazilian Women’s Championship in a game marked by rehearsed plays

by time news

Corinthians received the Fluminense at Fazendinha this Sunday morning, in a game valid for the Brazilian Women’s Championship. Brabas took no notice of their opponents and scored a resounding 5-0. Erika and Duda Sampaio scored twice and Jheniffer completed the scoring.

The team led by Lucas Piccinato had vast superiority throughout the entire 90 minutes. In the initial stage, the Brabas launched themselves fully into the attack and managed to open the scoring in the second lap of the clock. Afterwards, they managed to score three more times to go into the break with 4-0 on the scoreboard.

The pace dropped in the second half, even though Corinthians were superior throughout the period, but without being able to score until the additions due to the blockade formed by Fluminense. In extra time, Duda Sampaio managed to close the score in a play involving Paulinha and Millene.

Write down, Faithful! After this victory, Corinthians is now preparing to face Atltico-MG, next Wednesday, the 1st, also in the Brazilian Women’s Championship. The match will be played at SESC Venda Nova, in Belo Horizonte.

Escalao

For the confrontation, coach Lucas Piccinato decided to enter the field with: Kemelli; Isabela, Erika, Mariza and Tamires; Ju Ferreira, Vitria Yaya and Duda Sampaio; Millene, Gabi Portilho and Jhennifer.

My Timo

For possible exchanges, the coach also listed Nicole, Mary Camilo, Letcia Santos, Eudimilla, Carol Tavares, Dani Arias, Vic Albuquerque, Paulinha, Fernanda and Marussi for the match.

It is worth remembering that the Brabas coach went into the match with a series of absences. Lel is recovering from ACL reconstruction surgery, while Gabi Zanotti from a tibial stress fracture, Jhonson from a meniscus suture and Jaqueline from a costal arch trauma. Other absences are Ellen, who goes through transition, and Yasmim, expelled in the last game.

On the opposite side of the Fazendinha pitch, Fluminense, led by Hoffmann, was lined up with Letcia Bussatto; Geovana Alves, Yasmin, Gislaine, Cotrim, Sorriso, Claudinha, Camila Pini, Kamilla, Cacau and Lurdinha.

The game

First time

In the second minute of the game Brabas opened the scoring. In a play down the right aisle, Gabi Portilho and Ju Ferreira scored. Shirt number 18 made a low cross into the Fluminense area. Erika left the mark and sent it into the back of the net.

Corinthians continued to bet on plays down the right aisle. In the following minutes, Gabi Portilho was used a lot at speed by both the midfielders and Isabela. The crosses, however, failed to be converted into shots.

It was by reversing the side, however, that Brabas managed to score again. Taking a corner from the left side, Tamires sent the ball to Erika’s head, which filled the Fluminense net.

With the score in their favor, Corinthians continued to put pressure on Fluminense with plays coming from the flanks.

Halfway through the first stage, the black and white team had already created two more scoring opportunities, with the Rio defender clearing a ball off the line. Meanwhile, Fluminense couldn’t even get past midfield.

In this context, Corinthians scored the third in the 33rd minute. Gabi Portilho crossed low again and Duda Sampaio took a shot near the small area with no chance for the opposing goalkeeper.

The number 18 shirt continued to be used a lot in the following minutes. Passing easily past the markers, he provided two passes for shots that were not very dangerous after the third goal.

In another play that came from the right aisle (but from the defense), Isabela played straight to Jennifer, passing between Duda Sampaio’s legs. The number 9 dribbled past his marker with a body play and sent it into the back of the net. Don’t lose count: 4-0 for Corinthians.

The black and white superiority continued and the referee added another three minutes to the regulation time. Even though they maintained possession of the ball, Corinthians never threatened their rival goal.

Second time

After the break, coach Lucas Piccinato made two changes: Dani Arias and Eudimilla replaced Erika and Ju Ferreira, respectively. Fluminense exchanged Sorriso for Nath Branco.

In the opening minutes, Corinthians continued to put pressure on Fluminense, but with a slower pace compared to the first stage. Jennifer even missed a chance ten minutes in, face to face with the goalkeeper. Thus, coach Lucas Piccinato saw the need for more substitutions, placing Letcia Santos and Paulinha in the places of Portilho and Isabela.

Even with the changes, Brabas did not increase the pace at Fazendinha. The first half of the second half was marked by a lot of control of ball possession, preventing Fluminense from being able to pose a threat to the black and white team.

On the Rio side, Hoffmann made a triple change in the 22nd minute. Saram Camila Pini, Lurdinha and Cacau for the entrances of Annaysa, Carla Nunes and Vernica. The coach’s expectation was to at least reduce the difference in the score.

Even so, Brabas continued to have more possession of the ball. Most of it, however, was made by defenders, who kept moving around the round from one side to the other with difficulty in breaking through the blockade set up by Fluminense. The Rio team reduced the distance between the lines and formed a 5-4-1 formation in defensive moments.

Aware of this difficulty, Piccinato placed Marussi in Jheniffer’s place. With another midfielder, the coach’s idea was to have greater infiltration capacity between the opposing defensive lines. Furthermore, Corinthians started to focus on long-distance shots, although with immense difficulty in putting the opponent’s goal in danger.

At 37 minutes the match looked like it was going to heat up when Eudimilla and Kamilla got awkward, exchanged shoves and even threw a foot. Yaya cleared up the confusion and the referee did not punish anyone involved.

In the next move, Fluminense found themselves in danger from the black and white team. The Rio forward came face to face with Kemelli inside the small area. The archer stretched out her left leg and managed to prevent her opponent from decreasing with a great defense.

With the match heating up, the referee granted six minutes of extra time. In the second, Corinthians scored their fifth goal. The Fluminense goalkeeper missed the goal kick and Duda Sampaio stole it in midfield, rolling it to Paulinha. In exchange for passes down the right aisle, the full-back played with Millene, who served for Duda Sampaio. Shirt number 27 was entering the area, dominated and scored. 5-0 for Brabas.

There was still time for Fluminense to take another shot towards Kemelli’s goal and Corinthians to put the Rio goal in danger. Without success for any of the finishes, however. With that, the match was ended.
