For the first time since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the 7-day incidence for the Melk district has risen to over 700 with 723 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. “The increase in the numbers was foreseeable. The population is now encouraged to test,” explains District Captain Norbert Haselsteiner.
Haselsteiner expects a further increase in coronavirus cases in the entire Melk district in the next few days. “The population has recognized the seriousness of the situation. The announcement alone that the district is threatened with exit tests has increasingly prompted people to report about 1450,” says Haselsteiner.
In view of the continuing rapid increase in incidence, on Thursday the incidence was still 652.8, the question also arises whether further containment measures will be taken in the district. For Haselsteiner, proportionality applies, and he refers to the briefing between the states and the federal government, where further measures for the entire state are currently being discussed.
