Today in Turin the defenses will complete the speeches. The prosecution has already presented the requests for sentencing

The trial in the Court of Appeal in Turin continues for the defendants involved in an alleged corruption ring in the Aosta Valley. Today’s hearing is dedicated to the completion of the pleadings by the defense, while in the previous hearings the prosecution formulated its requests for conviction.

The sentence is expected on 20 September.

The trial concerns among others the current regional councilor Augusto Rollandin, the entrepreneur Gerardo Cuomo and the former managing director of the Forte di Bard, Gabriele Accornero. In the trial with an abbreviated first degree procedure, the three had been sentenced.

Deputy Attorney General Giancarlo Avenati Bassi asked for a five-year sentence for Rollandin and Accornero, four years for Cuomo and confirmation of the first-degree sentences for the other defendants: the professional book from Aosta Simone D’Anello, the craftsman building Salvatore D’Anello from Aosta, the Saint-Pierre entrepreneur Davide Bochet.
