La Gacilly, its slate roofs, its river – the Aff –, its surrounding woods. It is in this charming village of Morbihan, located about sixty kilometers south of Rennes, that little Yves Rocher, born in 1930, spent a happy childhood. Every evening after school, the young boy, with jet-black hair and piercing eyes, sets off to explore the wild nature, hand in hand with his father, Joseph. The latter introduced him to his passion: plants. Together, they study them and create countless herbaria, which they preserve religiously.
