Gainsborough Kicks Off Festive Season with Premier of “Cinderella”
A magical production of “Cinderella” officially launched the festive season in Gainsborough, drawing local dignitaries and enthusiastic audiences to the Trinity Arts Center. the premier performance featured a cast showcasing local talent and was celebrated as a highlight for the community.
The opening night was attended by Chairman of West Lindsey District Council, Cllr Matt Boles, and Vice Chairman, Cllr John Barrett, adding a touch of glamour to the event. According to reports, Cllr Boles attended the performance with his daughter, Darcie, who is also part of the talented cast. “Oh yes they did!” was overheard as a celebratory exclamation.
“I’m incredibly proud to see Darcie performing in this year’s pantomime,” a senior official stated. “The Trinity Arts Centre team always put on a fantastic show, and it’s brilliant to see so many local young people involved.I was delighted to be invited to join audiences in supporting this magical production and kicking off the festive season in style.”
The annual pantomime is deeply rooted in gainsborough’s cultural tradition, offering a platform for local artists and providing entertainment for families.This year’s production promises a blend of laughter, music, and festive cheer.
Cllr Barrett emphasized the importance of the event for the community, stating, “The annual panto is a real highlight for our community. It brings families together,celebrates creativity,and spreads a huge amount of joy. I was very much looking forward to experiencing the excitement of opening night and seeing Gainsborough come alive with festive spirit.”
also in attendance were Chief Executive of West Lindsey District Council, Paul Burkinshaw, and Director of planning, Regeneration and Communities, Sally Grindrod-Smith, demonstrating the council’s support for the arts and community events.
The classic tale of Cinderella,featuring the iconic Ugly Sisters,Buttons,and a Fairy Godmother,will transport audiences to a world of enchantment. the production, helmed by the same team that delivered a successful rendition of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” in 2024, promises dazzling costumes and hilarious antics.
Premium performances are scheduled for December 21st, 23rd, 24th, and 31st, with additional school performances taking place throughout mid-December.
