Power Outages Spread Across Israel
Residents in various cities across Israel experienced widespread power outages on Monday evening, with reports coming in from Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Herzliya, Ashkelon, and Be’er Sheva.
Initial concerns arose about a possible cyber attack being the cause of the outages, but the electric company quickly responded, stating that the outages were actually due to a production fault. The National Cyber System also confirmed that there was no evidence of a cyber incident.
According to the electric company, the outages were the result of a disruption in the activity of two production units, leading to loadshedding and power outages in several areas. Alternative production units were activated, and most of the affected areas had their power restored.
This widespread disruption caused inconvenience for many residents, but the electric company was able to quickly address the issue and restore power to most affected areas. The cause of the production fault is still being investigated.
