by time news

Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM state secretariat meeting this afternoon will discuss the cabinet reorganization. CPM State Secretary MV Govindan will resign from the post of minister later today or tomorrow after taking a decision on the new minister. The last state committee meeting left the state secretariat tasked with taking a decision on the new minister.

M. V. Govindan continued in both positions without resigning as a minister because the assembly session was going on. The state secretariat meeting today will discuss the reorganization of the cabinet in the event of the dissolution of the assembly yesterday. Extensive reorganization is not under consideration by the CPM leadership. At present there are 20 ministers. With the resignation of MV Govindan, the number will decrease to 19.

Meanwhile, the party is not considering filling the vacancy of Saji Cherian’s resignation. The priority is to appoint a replacement for MV Govinda. It is indicated that the new minister will be from Kannur itself. The fact that no one from the previous cabinet is being considered as a minister again increases the chances of Thalassery MLA A.N.Shamsir.

If so, there is a possibility of change in the departments. The Secretariat will discuss these matters in detail today. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s position will be crucial in this regard. Ponnani MLA P.Nandakumar and Uduma MLA CH.Kunjambu are also likely if the discussion extends to those outside Kannur.
