Loan balance grows in Shanghai at the end of November

SHANGHAI, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) — The loan balance in Shanghai, including all currencies, stood at 10.33 trillion yuan (1.48 trillion U.S. dollars) at the end of November, up 1 year on year. 9.2 percent, according to official data.

The balance of Chinese yuan loans in the metropolis reached 9.61 trillion yuan at the end of November, marking a year-on-year increase of 10.7 percent, said the Head Office of the People’s Bank of China in Shanghai.

The balance of foreign currency loans stood at 99.9 billion dollars at the end of last month, for a year-on-year decrease of 17.9 percent.

As of the end of November, the balance of Shanghai’s deposits was 11.9 percent higher than the previous year, reaching 19.18 trillion yuan. End
