The Bolsa Família program is adopting measures to facilitate beneficiaries’ access to program resources. Currently, beneficiaries are receiving two types of cards, the Caixa Tem card and the Bolsa Família card. All have the debit option, however, the credit option has not yet been confirmed.

With the deposit of the benefit in the Caixa Tem digital account, families have the option to choose between receiving the social card with magnetic stripe or the Bolsa Família debit card. Those who have a digital savings account also have the possibility to receive the Bolsa Família card. On the other hand, subscribers who do not have an account will have the social card in hand.

Unlocking the Bolsa Família card is done through the Caixa Tem application. The beneficiary must select the “Bolsa Família” option and, with the card in hand, follow the instructions provided in the application to create a password and provide the requested information.

To unblock the Caixa Tem card, the beneficiary must access the application, select the “Debit card” option and follow the indicated guidelines. If the beneficiary faces difficulties in creating the password in the application, it is recommended that he/she go to a Caixa Econômica Federal branch for support and clarify any problems encountered.

It is essential to point out that none of the Bolsa Família cards offer the option of credit payment. Beneficiaries should be aware that these cards only work in debit mode, that is, the amount is debited directly from the account linked to the benefit.

How do I receive the Bolsa Família Card?

Unlike other requests for credit or debit cards, Bolsa Família beneficiaries do not need to make any type of request to receive the card. It will be automatically sent to all policyholders who are part of the income transfer program.

However, it is essential that beneficiaries pay attention to the address registered in the Cadastro Único, as the card will be sent to the registered address. If you have moved recently, it is important to go to the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) closest to your new residence and inform the new address. This way, the card will be sent correctly and you will avoid delivery problems.

It is important to note that Correios does not deliver cards to regions considered at risk or difficult to access. In these situations, the card will be available for withdrawal at the Post Office deposit. The beneficiary will be informed about the need to appear in person to pick up the card.

The Ministry of Development and Social Assistance (MDS) has adopted a strategy of prioritizing the transfer of cards. Those beneficiaries who do not have a Bolsa Família card will be the first to receive it. Then, beneficiaries who have the old card will be contemplated, thus ensuring the update to the new technology. Finally, beneficiaries who received the new card in October of the previous year will be covered, since the card is more recent and continues to carry out its functions normally.

How to withdraw Bolsa Familia?

Bolsa Família continues to be deposited in the Caixa Tem digital account, providing beneficiaries with easy access to resources through different options. Beneficiaries have the option of withdrawing the amount at bank branches, lottery outlets or ATMs. In addition, it is also possible to make transfers and payments using the Caixa Tem application, available for Android and iOS devices.

To ensure an organized and efficient distribution of payments, Bolsa Família follows a staggered calendar based on the last digit of the Social Identification Number (NIS). This month, the transfer will take place until next Friday, covering policyholders whose NIS ends in 0. Today, Wednesday (28), is the receipt day for beneficiaries with NIS ending in 8.
