“How are you going to fight corruption if a huachicolero gave you money for your campaign? How are you going to combat organized crime? The first thing to do is break with that system, with that pact, from the campaign to have the moral authority, to implement the measures that are necessary: public tenders, transparent processes,” said Álvarez Máynez.
For this reason, he proposed that the tenders be video-recorded and stored so that they can be consulted by any interested party and thereby break with direct allocation, with corruption mechanisms “and that also involve organized crime.”
He also commented that in support of businesses, he will seek to reserve a percentage of federal government tenders for micro, small and medium-sized businesses.
