Seeman, the chief co-ordinator of the Naam Tamil Party, said in a statement yesterday that the passage of the “Criminal Procedure Code 2022” in Parliament by the Central Government, which could drastically deny the fundamental rights of the individual and turn the people of the country into open prisoners, was highly reprehensible. This is the culmination of the BJP government’s act of authoritarianism, which seeks to re-create the modern criminal lineage by collecting and protecting the biological information of citizens.
He therefore called on all political parties, human rights organizations and social activists to come to the forefront and fight for the Criminal Procedure Code-2022, which is against the basic constitution itself, on the basis of the complete deprivation of individual rights and freedoms.
