Crystal Palace pulled off a major surprise after scoring a “historic” four goals against its guest, Manchester United, on Monday, at the end of the 36th round of the English Premier League.
The starring role in the great victory achieved at Selhurst Park was played by French midfielder Michael Olisse, who scored a brace in the 12th and 66th minutes.
While his compatriot, John Philip Mateta, scored the second goal in the 40th minute, and young English defender Tyreek Mitchell scored the third goal in the 58th minute.
This is Crystal Palace’s biggest victory in the history of its confrontations with the Red Devils, and its second in a row this season, after it won at the Theater of Dreams with a goal in the first round match last September, in an unprecedented event for the team.
The Eagles also regained the taste of three points, after drawing in the last round with a goal against Fulham, which was their fourth victory in the last 5 rounds.
The team raised its score to 43 points, ranking 14th.
While Man United fell into the trap of losing 13 this season, the team continued its series of disastrous results this season under the leadership of Dutchman Eric Ten Hag.
The Red Devils’ balance froze at 54 points in eighth place, from 35 matches.
