Kolkata chased down the target by 132 runs. Venkatesh Iyer and Rahane were the opening batsmen for the team. Venkatesh Iyer took 16 runs and lost his wicket after the Powerplay overs. Nitish Rana followed with 21 runs. Rahane was out for 44 runs.
The team’s captain, Shreyas Iyer, later formed an alliance with Sam Billings. The two formed a partnership for 36 runs. Sam Billings was out for 25 runs. In the end, the team won by 133 runs in 18.3 overs.
