This Friday, the city of Miami will offer a final goodbye to the two Cuban victims of the tragic car accident that shook Hialeah last week.

Yarina García Hernández, 39, and her aunt, Gloria Esther Hernández, 71, will be remembered in a funeral ceremony planned by the community and family, who have received an outpouring of support following the event.

“Next Friday there will be the funeral in Miami of two Cuban women who died in the tragic accident in Hialeah where the driver turned out to be a minor under 15 years of age who had taken his parents’ car without prior permission,” said Javier Díaz on Facebook.

According to Díaz, the community has managed to raise more than 17 thousand dollars through a GoFundMe campaign aimed at covering funeral and medical expenses.

“The family of the victims has so far managed to raise more than $17 thousand dollars in an account they opened on GoFundMe for the funeral services and also cover the expenses of the hospital where Liliana Hernández, Yarina García’s mother, who was also traveling in “the vehicle with the two fatalities”he added.

As you may remember, the tragic accident occurred on the fateful night of last Tuesday, and involved three vehicles and left not only two fatalities, but also two other people seriously injured.

Among them, Liliana Hernández, Yarina’s mother, who is still fighting for her life in the hospital. The driver of the vehicle, a minor of just 15 years old, had taken his parents’ vehicle without authorization, contributing to the tragedy that Miami regrets today.

Recently, family and friends of the victims gathered to hold a vigil near the scene of the events.
