The joint event for the cutting of the New Year’s King Pie at the indoor basketball court of Kallithea by the Federation of Cultural Associations of Rhodes and the Federation of Dodecanese Parish Associations of Rhodes was held with great success. This event was an opportunity for our Members to express their devotion to tradition and folklore, filling the indoor stadium with colors from the traditional costumes, thus reflecting the rich tradition of our country and all of Greece.
The event was graced by the presence of many distinguished guests, including the Theophilist Bishop of Olympos Mr. Kyrillos, the Member of Parliament and Dean of the Parliament Mr. Ypsilantis, the Member of Parliament Ms. Iatridis, the mayor of Rhodes Mr. Koliadis, the rural deputy governor of Dodecanese Mr. Efstratios , the deputy regional governor for culture Mr. Michalakis, the deputy regional governor for industry, energy and natural resources Mr. Diakogeorgiou, the president of Energy S.A. of the Region Mr. Antoniadis, the deputy mayor of Petaloudon Mr. Papageorgiou, the municipal councilor Mr. Flevaris, the member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Cultural Associations and vice-mayor of culture and tourism, Mr. Toppou. Letters were sent by the Deputy Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy Mr. Pappas, the Dodecanese MPs Mr. Konsolas and Mr. Nikitiadis, who due to force majeure could not attend the event.
Our thanks go to everyone who broadcasted this event, from Irida and Tharri TV stations and the Mass Media. However, we would like to express special thanks to Father Nektarios Pokkias, who with his presence always supports and promotes the rich work of our local associations.

With the support of all our members, the Federations will continue their work to preserve and promote our morals, customs and intangible cultural heritage. The big thank you is addressed to all the volunteers, who are the members of our clubs, as they are the real guardians, preservers and continuers of our culture.
