The National Assembly is discussing the draft law submitted by the government, which proposes not to charge customs fees in case of exporting goods with a customs value of up to 1 million drams.
According to Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, the change in the law is due to the need to simplify the process of exporting goods during the implementation of small and medium business activities.
“The project envisages an opportunity for business entities not to pay the customs fees charged for goods not exceeding 1 million AMD in the amount of the total customs value exported from RA with one transport document from one carrier to one recipient,” he noted.
The minister noted that the change is also aimed at simplifying the process of customs formalities, improving the competitive environment, in particular, within the framework of the aforementioned legal regulation, businessmen are exempted from the obligation to pay state duty in the case of exporting low-value goods, which will lead to an increase in the number of suppliers in the mentioned markets, as well as trade.
The draft stipulates that goods transported across the RA border from one shipper to one recipient with one transport document (except for export, including EAEU member countries) with a total customs value not exceeding 200 euros, from one shipper to one recipient with one transport document to RA are exempted from state duty. goods exported across the border, including to EAEU member countries, the total customs value of which does not exceed AMD 1 million.
