We know the eight riders who will represent the French team during the road race of the Worlds in Scotland on August 6. Coach Thomas Voeckler revealed it on France 2 on Sunday, on the sidelines of the 21st and final stage of the Tour de France.

Julian Alaphilippe, double world champion in 2020 and 2021, and Christophe Laporte, in the thick of it with the Jumbo-Visma, are the two gondola heads of this selection. The French road champion Valentin Madouas is also included, as is Benoît Cosnefroy, winner of several classics (Quebec GP and Bretagne Classic).

Armirail and Cavagna will do the timing

Rather to his advantage on the Tour, Bryan Coquard will also be there, as will team-mates Olivier Le Gac, Florian Senechal and Rémi Cavagna. The latter will support the leaders on this 271 kilometer course.

Cavagna will also represent France in the individual time trial on August 11, along with Bruno Armirail.
