Cyclists from the Risraldense registry compete in the Tour Colombia 2024
- The most important cycling event in the country began this Tuesday and will continue until next Sunday, on the roads of Boyacá and Cundinamarca.
Pereira, February 6, 2024. Pedalists of the stature of Nairo Quintana, Egan Bernal, Rigoberto Urán, Esteban Chaves, Richard Carapaz, Fernando Gaviria and Andrey Amador, are present in the fourth version of the Tour Colombia circuit of the UCI World Tour, which takes place starting today on the roads of boyacenses.
Two members of the Risaraldense Cycling League are part of the group of 156 cyclists who started today in Paipa, they are the son of Marseille Kevin Castillo, who competes for the Sistecrédito team and Diego Pescador who, although born in Quimbaya, belongs to the Risaraldense registration and is currently part of the GW Shimano squad.
“We are proud of these two cyclists who have worked with the Risaralda Casta de Campeones brand from the ground up. Being alongside the greats of Colombian cycling will always be a source of satisfaction for us. We wish great success to these representatives of our land”said Luis Eduardo Duque Sanz, Secretary of Sports, Recreation and Culture of Risaralda.
This time the Tour will be a challenge of 799 kilometers distributed in six stages designed to test cyclists with a combination of flat terrain and mountainous climbs. This event will begin in Paipa, Boyacá, and will culminate on Sunday in the country’s capital.
The competition will feature world-renowned teams such as Astana, EF Education Easy-Post and Movistar Team.
