the incident and Erivo’s decisive action. The man, identified as a Singaporean national named Wen, who goes by the username ‘Pyjama Man’ on Instagram. His profile reveals a history of similar incidents, including documented invasions of concerts by Katy Perry, The Weeknd, and the Chainsmokers, and also a disruption at the 2023 World Cup Final. His Instagram bio labels him a “2023 worid Cup FinaI Pitch lnvader” and “Troll Most hated.”
Wen himself posted a video of the incident at the Wicked premiere to his account, prompting a wave of calls for his arrest. “There needs to be an action done against him, as this is clearly a criminal offense,” one user wrote, directly tagging the singapore police. Another expressed outrage, stating, “After all the trauma Ari has been through, this is beyond disrespectful. Not just to her,but to the cast and to all the fans. It’s literally infuriating. You should be ashamed.”
According to reports, Wen was briefly detained by authorities and later released. he subsequently posted a story stating, “I’m free after being arrested.” In a message to NBC, he described himself as a “mega fan” of Grande, but did not respond to questions regarding the public backlash.
A crowdfunding page linked on his Instagram profile, intended to “pay off all my bills,” has yet to receive any donations. The page lists his location as Haymarket, an inner-Sydney suburb.
The incident underscores the ongoing challenges of ensuring the safety of celebrities and the potential for obsessive fan behavior to escalate into dangerous situations.
