Russia’s average daily losses in the war against Ukraine are increasing with each passing year. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the number of victims has increased by more than 500 people per day, according to a publication of the British Ministry of Defense in X, quoted by Ukrinform and BTA.

The British ministry refers to intelligence data.

The analysis states that since the beginning of the invasion in February 2022, Russian forces have suffered an average of 658 casualties (killed and wounded) per day. Each year, the average number of daily losses (killed and wounded in action) increased – from 400 in 2022 to 693 in 2023 and to 913 in the first quarter of 2024.

“This increase reflects Russia’s continued reliance on mass to maintain pressure on the Ukrainian front lines,” intelligence analysts said. At the same time, experts note that in March the average daily number of victims in Russia decreased by 74 people – up to 913 people per day.

Britain’s Ministry of Defense said the drop in Russian losses in March was due to fewer attacks on positions of Ukraine’s armed forces in the past month.
