Starting next month, May 1, state-controlled dairy products will become more expensive in Israel. According to the analysis, prices for milk in stores will increase by 4.48 percent.

The Marker writes about this.

The price increase will take place as part of the automatic price adjustment for state-controlled food products. But the cost of chicken eggs will not change, but will remain at the same level. From May this year, Israelis will have to pay 6.21 shekels instead of the current 5.94 shekels for fresh 3 percent milk in plastic bags (1 liter), and the price of fresh 1 percent milk will increase from 5.51 shekels to 5.76 shekels per liter

Also in stores, prices for milk in cardboard bags, sour cream, whipping cream, semi-hard cheese “Emek”, “Gilboa”, soft curd cheese “Gvina Lavana” will increase.

It is noted that the increase in prices for dairy products is due to several factors, in particular inflation and increased production costs. The new prices reflect rising costs such as the consumer price index (1.5 percent), wage index (2.7 percent) and the wholesale price of milk (0.6 percent).

Kursor wrote earlier that last week ice cream maker Nestlé and the deli meat company Maadaney Yehiam said that after Passover the cost of their products would increase by 6-9 percent.
