From Beijing to Shanghai, the historic complex, directed by Francesca Magnini, will perform in 10 capitals of the Land of the Dragon with ‘Romeo and Juliet’, the ballet reinterpreted by director and choreographer Fabrizio Monteverde, which recorded over 250 thousand 20 years after its debut spectators
Twelve years after the successful 2011 tour in China, the Ballet of Rome, directed by Francesca Magnini, is once again a protagonist in the main theaters of China (14 performances in 10 important cities) with ‘Romeo and Juliet’, one of the most acclaimed (unmatched sold out record) signed by the director and choreographer Fabrizio Monteverde. In over 20 years, it has recorded 350 performances and more than 250,000 spectators. The protagonists in the main roles are the star of ‘Amici’ Carola Puddu (Giulietta) alongside Paolo Barbonaglia (Romeo) and the performers of the historic Roman company, founded by Franca Bartolomei and Walter Zappolini, which in 2020 celebrated 60 years of activity.
The tour is organized with the support of the Mic Ministry of Culture – Directorate General for Entertainment, the contribution of the Lazio Region Furs 2022 and the Italian Cultural Institute of Beijing, the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Shanghai, the patronage of the to Culture of Rome Capital, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italy China Council Foundation ICcf.
Si parte l’8 settembre da Shenzen (Nanshan Cultural and Sports & Center Grand Theater) per poi proseguire alla volta di Jiangmen (Performing Arts Center), Guangzhou (Grand Theatre), Pechino (Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center), Wenzhou (High Tech Culture Plaza), Yiwu (Culture Square Theatre), Yangzhou (The Grand Canal Theater), Hangzhou (Golden Sands Lake Grand Theatre), Zhoushan (Zhoushan Theater), Shanghai, (New Bund Cultural Performing Center).
