“Dancing With the Stars” Celebrates 20 Years with Reunion, New Twists & Beloved Host Return

A special 20th-anniversary episode of “Dancing With the Stars” promises a night of nostalgia, emotional tributes, and competitive heat when it airs on November 11 at 8 p.m. on ABC. The milestone celebration will honor two decades of dazzling performances and feature a mix of returning faces and exciting new challenges for the remaining couples.
A Trip Down Memory Lane
The anniversary festivities will kick off with a performance showcasing the show’s current professional dancers alongside six original pros from Season 1: Alec mazo, Ashly DelGrosso, Louis van Amstel, Jonathan Roberts, Charlotte Jorgensen, and Edyta Śliwińska. This opening number, choreographed by current judge Derek Hough, will be set to a new live rendition of the iconic “Dancing With the Stars Theme” by Ray Chew.
Adding to the nostalgic atmosphere, former host Tom Bergeron will make a guest appearance as a judge, delighting longtime fans. The show will also include a poignant tribute to past performers who have passed away, set to Lady Gaga’s “Always remember Us This Way” and choreographed by ezra Sosa and Rylee Arnold.
Competition Heats Up with a Relay Twist
Following the celebratory opening, the competition will resume with the seven remaining couples. Each pair will perform a new dance style inspired by freestyle performances from previous seasons. But the night won’t stop there.
The popular Relay Dance competition is returning, but with a significant change.For the first time, celebrities will be paired with returning Mirrorball champions rather of their regular professional partners, adding an unpredictable element to the competition.
Last week’s “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night” saw the elimination of Danielle Fishel, known for her role in “Boy Meets World,” and her partner, Pasha Pashkov.
