The Real Madrid footballer, at the time of his statements, recalled that Jenni Hermoso had not denounced, so the footballers cannot position themselves or condemn without having knowledge of the facts: “We cannot position ourselves or condemn a party or the other previously, without really knowing what has happened or what has been stipulated because, as of now, Jennifer has not filed any complaint.”

The Spanish full-back wanted to qualify his words in the program Radio station d’zero wave on the controversy surrounding the events of Rubiales with Jenni Hermoso: “At no time have I said that Jenni is not the victim, I have said that the presumption of innocence must be preserved. I don’t think the president is having a good time, but I’m not here to judge anybody.”
To end the press conference, Carvajal also spoke about his relationship with Rubiales and expressed the players’ unconditional support for De la Fuente: “He has always had an excellent personal relationship with me and in terms of helping us as footballers he has been exceptional. I speak for my part, as a player, and I cannot fault him.”
