David Hussey says Zampa’s attempted Mankad was just a warning- Dinamani

Melbourne Star coach David Hussey has said that running out a batsman who has left the crease before bowling is unacceptable at the other end.

Running out the batter leaving the crease at the bowler’s end has long been controversial. R. Ashwin and Deepti Sharma ran out like that and became the subject of huge controversies. In this case, this incident has also taken place in the PBL match.

The PBL match between Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars was held at Melbourne Stadium today. Batting first in this match, Melbourne Renegades scored 141 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. The last over of this innings was bowled by famous spinner and captain Adam Zamba. When he came to bowl the 5th ball, Zamba immediately ran out when he saw Tom Rogers, the batsman at the other end, leave the crease before throwing the ball. But his mistake was to run out after completing the delivery. But according to the rules, the bowling should be run out before finishing. Then the batter at the other end is run out if he has left the crease. But the 3rd umpire disagreed with Zamba’s run out and awarded the batter in favour. Now the Aussies are doing something that Indian players usually do. What the player has done has also caused controversy and surprise. In this match, the Melbourne Stars led by Zamba lost by 33 runs.

In this case, Melbourne Star coach David Hussey said that Zamba’s actions cannot be accepted. In an interview he said:

Had the 3rd umpire declared out, we would have withdrawn our appeal. This is not the right way to play cricket. Zamba said it was just a warning to the batter.
