Dusseldorf The leading German index started the new trading day with losses: In the first few minutes of trading, it was down 0.3 percent at 15,910 points. On Monday, the Dax started the new trading week almost unchanged: it closed at 15,951 points, just one point lower than the closing price on Friday.
The mood on Wall Street is different: in anticipation of the US inflation figures, which will be published on Thursday, US investors already bought shares on Monday: the most important indices all rose.
Economic data are also in focus on Tuesday in other respects: even before the start of trading, the Federal Statistical Office confirmed its first estimate of inflation in July. Accordingly, consumer prices rose by 6.2 percent compared to the same month last year.
