jpnn.comPEKANBARU – A fatal accident occurred on Jalan Riau near the Rumah Partai Shop, Senapelan District, Pekanbaru City on Wednesday (1/5) early morning at around 02.30 WIB.
Head of the Pekanbaru Police Traffic Unit, Commissioner Alvin Agung Wibawa, said the accident resulted in the deaths of two motorbike riders.
“The accident started when the white Mitsubishi Strada car with the license plate number BM 9774 DK driven by Hendra Wijaya was driving on Jalan Riau from west to east,” said Alvin when confirmed by JPNN.com.
Arriving near the Rumah Partai Shop, Hendra tried to overtake the pedicab that was driving in front of him.
However, while overtaking, his car collided with a Honda Beat motorbike with the license plate number BM 6493 CX driven by Ferdian Pangestu carrying a passenger named Ot Gerus Nino.
The Honda Beat motorbike then bounced and hit a Honda CB 150 motorbike with the number BM 4826 FF, which was driven by Aliono and carrying a passenger named Lusiyanti.
“As a result of this accident, Ferdian Pangestu and Ot Gerus Nino died at the scene. “Meanwhile, Aliono and Lusiyanti suffered serious injuries and were rushed to hospital,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Hendra Wijaya, the driver of the Mitsubishi Strada car, also suffered minor injuries.
