DEADLY SHOOTING AT OCALA MALL PROMPTS POLICE SEARCH

Authorities are on the hunt for the individual responsible for a fatal shooting at the Paddock Mall in Ocala. Ocala Police have released images of a person of interest in connection to the shooting that took place early Sunday morning.

During a press conference Saturday night, Police Chief Mike Balken revealed that the shooter is a black male, described as wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and a black mask that partially covered his face. The shooting resulted in the death of 40-year-old David Nathaniel Barron, while a woman was also injured but is expected to survive.

In addition to identifying the person of interest, Ocala police are also seeking to recover a red hat that was reportedly taken from the crime scene. Those in possession of the hat have been warned that tampering with evidence could result in a felony charge.
