The investigation into the death of businessman Dinesh Shapter, who died mysteriously, has taken a new turn after investigators received more evidence that they suspect he may have committed suicide.
Suspicion reportedly arose when investigators found a wire similar to the one tied around Schapter’s neck at his home at the time of his death.
Also, some cable ties used to bind Schafter’s hands were found in his house.
Cause of death
In the middle of the investigation, investigators suspect that Schafter committed suicide.
But an autopsy on Schafter’s death ruled the cause of death was strangulation with a zip-wire cable.
On this basis, investigations have not ruled out whether it was murder or suicide.
In this regard, the Criminal Investigation Department is conducting investigations from every angle, Superintendent of Police, Cireste, Nihal Taldua said.
